On Wednesday morning, a vehicle transport ship and four vehicles it was transporting burst into flames on Interstate 95 in Norwalk. Footage taken at the site reveals fierce fires raging, with images illustrating the significant destruction inflicted.
Around 5:53 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to southbound Interstate 95, near exit 14, where they discovered that a car transport trailer along with four of the six cars onboard were engulfed in flames.
They managed to extinguish the flames, and special tow trucks were called in to clear the vehicles and trailer off the highway.
According to fire authorities, the blaze seems to have originated from the trailer's braking system, and despite attempts by the driver to douse it using a fire extinguisher, they were unsuccessful. Consequently, the flames spread upwards, affecting the vehicles positioned above.
No injuries were reported.
