The South Carolina Highway Patrol is looking into a deadly crash that happened Tuesday night on New Zion Road, about 14 miles north of Kingstree, said SCHP Trooper Tyler Tidwell. The operator of a 2023 Tesla, which was the only car involved, passed away at the location where the accident took place.
According to Tidwell, the Tesla driver was heading west when they drifted off the roadway to their right, hit a culvert, flipped over, and crashed into a legally parked and empty 2010 Chevy Silverado in the yard.
The authorities are looking into the details of the accident. The identity of the collision victim has not been established by the coroner yet.
